Collection of Personal Information

The Foundation collects personal information from interested parties on a voluntary basis.  Such personal information may, but not always, include your e-mail address, name, home or web address, telephone number, age, academic qualifications, work experience, interests and preferences.

Use of Your Personal Information

It is the practice of the Foundation not to disclose your personal information to our partners or affiliates or other parties except with your prior written consent or as required by the law.

Your personal information is stored directly in the Foundation’s in-house database, which only the authorised employees of the Foundation can access.  They will review your details for the purposes of providing you with information of potentially suitable news reports or possible volunteer offerings.

Use of Cookies

The Website may use 'cookies' to help you personalise your online experience.  A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web server.  Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookies to you.  One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save your time.  The function of the cookies is to tell the web server that you have returned to a specific page, and help record your specific information on subsequent visits.  This simplifies the processing of recording of your personal information.

You have the ability to accept or decline the cookies.  You can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer.

Security

Personal information collected by the Foundation through the Website is stored and maintained in a secure and controlled environment that is not accessible by the public.  Given the nature of the Internet, the Foundation cannot guarantee that transmission of data is absolutely secure.  However, the Foundation shall take all commercially practicable steps to ensure that any information collected by the Foundation via the Website is safe and secure from third party interference.  The Foundation’s employees are trained to handle data properly and observe confidentiality.  The Foundation maintains a strict confidentiality policy on all information submitted by you.

Retention of Data

The Foundation may retain your personal information for a period of up to two years or for as long as you are a registered interested party in our offices.  We suggest that you update your details regularly in order for us to provide you with the most relevant information of Foundation activities and/or potential volunteering offerings.  See the 'Right of Data Access and Data Correction' section below.
